It is the most likely part to fail on these machines. it is the Achilles heel of glowforge.

the original cable is a soft squishy easily nicked damaged cut or worn.
I would not even use that wire for a desk lamp, let alone a 22,000 volt mini lightning bolt.

The basic HD-HV red wirea kit replaces the weak and failure prone factory red wire with a true high voltage rated, double insulated one designed specifically for laser use and rated for use at nearly twice voltage capacity of the glowforge.

included in my kit is an electrical isolation sleeve that will temporarily bandaid minor damage to the red wire. some holes/leaks are too small to see with the bare eye. so this allows you to slip it on... and if the laser starts working... you know there is a hidden leak and you need to replace the red wire. If the sleeve doesn't help, chances are the red wire kit won't either. and you likely have a power supply issue. so send me back the unused kit and I'll apply the kit price to a power supply purchase.
